The Cruisers hit the road, driving into the Gila wilderness to Silver
City for the 20th annual
Run to Copper Country. The weather was beautiful as we arrived at the
park. Cars and trucks of all shapes
and sizes were there, coming from Arizona, Texas and of course, New
Mexico. The day was spent lounging in the park
under the trees and enjoying the crowds of people that came to view the
show. About 2pm, green cards saying "award winner"
started to appear on certain cars and trucks. Then at 3:30, the
selected vehicles lined up for the "Winners Parade" where
awards were handed out. Then as we headed our separate ways, the clouds
rolled in and a nice rain fell, signaling the end
of the days activities.

Today friends, the Cruisers headed to the cool north and Las
Vegas...NEW MEXICO...for the
1st Annual Team Cutter/Hot Vegas Nights Car Show. It was good to be
back at the plaza in
Las Vegas with the vehicles surrounding the plaza, music coming from
the gazebo and seeing a lot of old friends
from up north. The weather was perfect for most the day and didn't get
iffy until it was time for the awards.
Events for the day included a bicycle contest, a tattoo contest and a
rockabilly pin-up contest. The ladies
are shown above.

Today the Cruisers drove into the heart of Albuquerque to Nob
Hill for the 11th Annual Neon Cruise and car show.
We
were directed on to Central Ave, and parked along the median.
We
found ourselves some shade along side a building facing the cars
started
the fun sport of people watching. As the afternoon proceeded toward the
evening, the number of spectators continued to grow.
When the people watching slowed a bit we headed off to the stores and
venders along Central. After a brief
rain
and wind storm, the crowds continued to grow as we readyed ourselves
for the cruise down Central Ave. At 8:30 sharp, the cars were
started and we drove out through the tightly packed street and down
through downtown and out to the
RV park for the "drive-in" movie.
